Studio Calia Srl supported GE.DE. Impianti Srl in the implementation of the project for ATM Milano involving the new fire-resistant fiber optic backbone in a redundant configuration along Line M1. This project is of major strategic importance for the city of Milan, aimed at ensuring operational continuity, safety, and communication reliability along the entire M1 metro line. The intervention represents a key step in the modernization of ATM’s technological infrastructure, guaranteeing high performance even under critical conditions through the use of fire-resistant fiber optic cables and a fully redundant backbone configuration. Studio Calia Srl provided specialized technical support in defining and optimizing the system solutions, with particular attention to installation in complex environments such as tunnels and underground technical rooms, in full compliance with safety regulations and the operational constraints of the metro line. The objective of the project is to enhance the efficiency of metropolitan traffic supervision and control systems, improve the resilience of the communication network, and ensure safer and more reliable management of Milan’s public transport service by integrating state-of-the-art infrastructure within a highly complex technical operating environment.
